Jakarta is one of the most interesting cities in the world. Jakarta is the largest city and capital of Indonesia, and is Located on the northwest coast of the island of Java. Compared to other destinations in Indonesia, Jakarta is not the most picturesque location, but the city has lots of things to see and do. Jakarta is an international gateway for Indonesia. Practically all international airlines stop in Jakarta.

Jakarta is the center of the nation's industrial, political and cultural life. It is home to many of the country's finest research institutes, educational facilities, and cultural organizations. Jakarta is the prominent gateway of Indonesia. As of its geographical condition, land, air and sea transportations are also available. Jakarta is the Capital City of The Republic of Indonesia, a country composed of more than 13.000 islands with a population of over 180 million. Jakarta is a special territory enjoying the status of a province, consisting of Greater Jakarta, covering of 637.44 square km area.

Jakarta is the national capital and seat of the central government and the main commercial and administrative centre of the country. Between 1961 and 1980, the population of DKI Jakarta doubled and by 1990 as much as 15 per cent (8.2 million) of Indonesia's urban population and 5 per cent of the total population lived and worked in the city. Jakarta is notoriously congested, and there's a three-person minimum requirement for cars on certain roads at peak times to minimize this. JAKARTA is a city of some ten million inhabitants. Like many other major Asian capitals, Jakarta is a polyglot of ethnic groups that all contribute to making up the city's collective culture.

Jakarta is also the principal gateway to Indonesia. Strategically positioned in the Indonesian archipelago, the Capital City provides the country's best transport services by land, air and sea. Jakarta is the capital city of the seventeen thousand islands that make up Indonesia, and has all that a mega polis has to offer- museums, amusement parks, cultural centers, and metropolitan shopping malls. Located on the northwest corner of the island of Java, Jakarta is an exciting blend of ancient traditions and modern industry.

Jakarta is located on the northwestern coast of Java Island, at the mouth of the Ciliwung River on Jakarta Bay, which is an inlet of the Java Sea. The northern part of Jakarta is built on flat land, approximately 15 to 150 feet above sea level, which results in frequent flooding. Jakarta is the centre of government where most of the state’s important decisions are made but it is also the economic center. At first glance, it is certainly not a tourist place but there are some parts of Jakarta that’s worth looking into. Jakarta is also home to the gigantic Bung Karno Stadium which on its day can hold up to 100,000 fans. Other popular sports in Jakarta include Basketball, shooting, tennis and badminton.

Jakarta is a really crowded city, and you will meet traffic jam everywhere, especially during busy hours. Jakarta is the 14th city in Asia Pacific to have a Citadines property as part of Ascott’s plans to continue to expand its Citadines brand in the region. The 120-unit Citadines Jakarta is located in the Central Business District of Menteng and is scheduled to open by the second half of 2010.
